OVERVIEW
The Fiery Gizzard is a 13 mile trail that runs between the Grundy Forest Trailhead and Foster Falls. We definitely recommend the whole hike, but if you'd like a shorter option, we love the 2 mile Grundy Forest Day Loop. This loop passes by numerous swimming holes, rock faces and a large rock shelter. You can extend the hike by about 1.2 miles and hike to Sycamore Falls, a great place to swim! One of our favorite days hikes is about a 9.5 mile hike to Raven Point and back. You can choose to hike there via the Fiery Gizzard or Dog Hole Trail. The Fiery Gizzard trail is a boulder hopping wonderland before coming to a steep climb up to Raven Point. Then you can follow the much easier Dog Hole Trail back to the trailhead. On the Dog Hole Trail do not skip the overlook at Werner Point, as this is one of the prettier overlooks on the plateau.
TRAILHEAD INFO
The trailhead is located near Tracy City, TN. There is a paved lot with overflow paid parking nearby and nice restrooms as well.
