OVERVIEW
Laurel-Snow Pocket Wilderness (or pocket for short) is one of our absolute favorite places to hike. The main trail meanders along Richland Creek, where there are numerous swimming holes and massive boulders. The 2 main waterfalls here are Laurel Falls and Snow Falls. Laurel Falls can be reached via a 4.8 out and back, and Snow Falls is a 9.8 out and back. One of our favorite overlooks, Buzzard Point, is located on the trail on the way to Snow Falls. This is a great area for kids as well since there are a lot of places to explore near the creek and rock hop among boulders.
TRAILHEAD INFO
The trailhead is located in Dayton, TN. The road leading to the trailhead has recently been paved as it used to be a very rough gravel road. On especially nice days, we recommend arriving early as the parking lot can get very full. We usually stop at the Walgreen's nearby to use the restroom beforehand. :)
